The Chung-Shi MI 5 allows you to set 5 heart rate zones. The lactate threshold heart rate is the heart rate at which the body is no longer able to cover the energy demand through oxygen and instead utilizes glucose. That leads to the body's acidity and you are working out in the anaerobe range.
The Chung-Shi MI 5 now determines from the lactate threshold heart rate as follows:
Zone 1: 30 - 81% of threshold heart rate
Zone 2: 82 - 88% of threshold heart rate
Zone 3: 89 - 93% of threshold heart rate
Zone 4: 94 - 100% of threshold heart rate
Zone 5: 101 - 106+% of threshold heart rate
These 5 heart rate zones are based on the most modern training philosophy and allow for a controlled heart rate zone workout in order to reach optimal training efficiency.
The Chung-Shi MI 5 Heart Rate Monitor features an automatic date-coded 1-day or 1-unit workout memory, which stores the time spent in each training zone, average, maximum and final heart rate per lap or split as well as the average and maximum heart rate during the entire workout. The data is always up-to-date and callable even when the stopwatch is running.
