WaterRower rowing machine Ashwood Natural
I did a lot of research for indoor rowers between Water, Fan and Magnetic. Water seemed the best option for me, it's less noisier, beautiful equipment and the water noise can be also relaxing.
My wife and I choose water rower because the maintenance can be done by us, instead of paying extra fees for someone to come and replace wear and tear parts. Also in our research, seemed smoother than First Degree Fitness (our second option).

Very happy with my rower. It’s simple to assemble and very sturdy. Using it is very quiet and smooth, which is good news when you live in an apartment. It’s also very well designed, and being made of wood makes it possible to have it in your living room without making it look like a giant gym equipment. I totally recommend it.

This is a great piece of design. It's a quiet and powerful machine. Unlike with air-resistance rowers, noise levels are much lower and all you hear is a pleasant woosh from the water being turned inside.
It's very well built, with attention to detail and, as it's made of wood, it can be placed in any room, including in your living room and won't feel as intrusive as a typical fitness machine.
Maintenance is quite easy and I believe it gives you a great workout, with minimum impact to your joints.
Also added a phone/tablet holder, with the same wood finish and it looks and works great.

Einfach Klasse!
Habe Heute, trotz der Corona-Krise, pünktlich den Waterrower erhalten (hatte erst viel später damit gerechnet).
Der Aufbau des Gerätes gelang mir in etwa 30 Minuten ohne Probleme.
Auch das erste Training hat die Qualität des Rudergerätes bestätigt. Die Sitzbank gleitet sehr leise auf der Laufschiene und das plätschern des Wassers im Tank gibt einen das Gefühl wirklich auf dem Wasser zu trainieren.

Finnlo rowing machine Aquon Evolution
WOW - what a fantastic piece of equipment. I did spend a fair amount of time reasearching the various options, but the Aquon Evolution has actually exceeded my expectations. For a starter, I am 193cm tall, so I wanted a machine that was solid and large enough for me. I think I could be 10cm taller and still have room to stretch out, so it is perfect in that respect. It is also very well built. No creaks or groans when you are using it, in fact I have been on less sturdy machines in professional gyms. Both my wife and I have used it nearly every day since it was delivered a few weeks ago and are both enjoying it immensley and feel that we are only just starting to discover its (and our :-) true potential. Even with no magnetic resitance turned on (and you can turn it up and up – phew !!) there is a nice weight on the pull. My only complaint is the intruction manual. For initial assembly it is OK, but for use of the computer display it is absolutley dreadful - and in some cases it actually gives completely WRONG instructions. For the record, this rower allows you to set up different users but the manual tells you the wrong way to do it. We had actually got to the point where we decided that perhaps the rower no longer had the multi-user function and that the manual was out of date, when I accidentally found that if I held the Reset button down for a few seconds, the set up user function appeared. Also, the rower has excellent built in training programs. The manual mentions them, gives ridiculously complicated (and tediously boring) instructions on how to access them - but doesn't bother to list them nor their various merits. Whoever wrote the manual at Finnlo should be given another job. A small child would have written clearer instructions. Even so, this is still a 5 star machine without a doubt. We Love Our Finnlo :-)

Concept2 SkiErg (PM5), wall model
Excellent machine! Due to the fact I have a bad knee I am limited in choice of good Cardio machines. The Skierg is the perfect match for me. I get a proper upper body as well as lower body workout without excess pressure on my knees.
Very simple to setup the machine and you can find enough videos on the internet to show you how to properly use it.
Also just as importantly the Concept 2 team in the Benelux are very quick to respond to your questions and provide great support.
Highly recommended and worth the investment. Don't buy cheap machines go for quality if you want the best results.
Fitshop also provided a great service and fast delivery! Can't go wrong...

Concept2 rowing machine indoor rower model D (PM5)
I am very satisfied with Concept 2. Together with slides is the winning combination. It really slides very smooth and makes you feel the strength of strokes. Very easy to assemble and train wherever you are. Saving of results gives you opportunity to improve yourself. Maybe it is a little loud, but this isn't really a problem. It is a great decision to buy it as a rower or just as an unprofessional athlete.
Train joint-gently the whole body with a rowing machine
Hardly any other stamina sport demands so many muscles like rowing.
About 80% of the body muscles are trained doing a complete rowing movement: the legs are angled and stretched, the torso is bent and actively leant back, the arms do the rest.
Keeping in mind that not only legs, back and arms are used, but shoulders, abs, and gluteal muscles are activated as well, rowing is meant to be a complete whole-body training.
Besides strengthening the muscles, the musculoskeletal system and improving the posture, rowing also trains the cardiovascular system and the stamina. Though it looks like rowing on water, the cantilever models are not very recommendable even for rowing beginners due to their inharmonic courses of motion and unbalanced resistance effects. In contrast to a rowing machine with magnetic brake system, the water wheel principle minimizes the risk to make a wrong setting of the resistance. On the other hand there are continuously improved rowing machines, which combine the advantages of the air-resistance system with those of the magnetic or eddy current brake systeM. The resistance levels of these so-called hybrid rowing machines is either frequently electronically preset via the handle or the resistance works depending upon the traction. for easy starting with rowing training as well as for the advanced workout of rowing enthusiasts. The combi resistance system allow perfect stroke movements for low as well as maximum load.

Stable indoor rowers for more intensive workouts
Regarding stability of a rowing machine, the frame design is important. In general, the frame of a rowing machine, where the sliding seat runs ona double rail, is more stable than that with a mono rail. The own weight and the size of the floor space influence the sturdiness and safety. All in all: The more stable a rowing machine, the higher is the maximum weight loadability and the more durable is the machine. Rowing machines with high stability are much safer for intensive training sessions with powerful strokes.
